Very impressed of this kit's quality. For a self made pedal, it's a huge improvement to my sound, as I basicly love my amp and guitar sounds and it greatly respects both with the advantage of a huge punch and a quite natural and smooth overdrive.
When you use it as a boost (a very clean boost obviously) it is dead quiet.
The tone control don't alter the sound in any setting but you can add a lot of clear bass by turning it down.
It is not really easy to built as you have to solder numerous components with care, but if you take your time if you know how to use a solder iron and if you follow the instructions (every thing is very clear) you should have no problem at all.
Probably the most expensive high quality boost/overdrive you can find on the market for little money!
